Save Our Kid
Save Our Kids is a National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Alumni Extension program benefiting the NSBE Jr. members of the Society.  The purpose of this program is to promote and honor academic excellence and to promote technical awareness in these students by awarding trips to the 35th annual NSBE National Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada March 25 – 29, 2009.  This award is wholly funded by the generous contributions of Alumni Extension members and supporters.  Alumni support of this award is not only through donations, but through volunteering as mentors for students wishing assistance with their essays and career planning

.
Golden Torch Award (GTA) Scholarship Program
The Golden Torch Awards (GTA) Scholarship Program is NSBE’s most prestigious award for pre-college students. It supports the NSBE mission by supporting the college bound dreams of pre-college students, who will continue the legacy of NSBE. The GTA was designed to celebrate the accomplishments of African-American engineers and other technical professionals. The GTA Scholarship Program honors high school students who exemplify leadership and excellence (academic, community service, etc). Students will be selected based on academic achievement, community service, and their educational and professional career goals.

Leroy Callendar Award
This award is named for Leroy Callendar, an architectural engineer who funded the endowment to begin the award program. The Leroy Callendar Award is presented to two outstanding high school students (one male/one female) who have demonstrated scholastic achievement. Winners will be recognized at the NSBE Annual National Convention in Las Vegas, NV in March 2009.
